A key element of sustainable living is the delivery of national and local policies on the regeneration of our urban, suburban and rural environments. With a focus on re-using previously developed land, the creation of sustainable communities is at the heart of the government’s vision for the UK in the 21st Century. AXIS’ planning, environmental and design staff have extensive experience in a wide range of regeneration projects encompassing:

  • the design of city and town centre environmental enhancement schemes (public realm, retail centres, residential, commercial and mixed use developments);
  • preparing planning applications for major, usually mixed use, regeneration projects
  • preparing regeneration strategies or studies at all scales from whole local authority areas to rural villages;
  • housing (estate) improvement projects;
  • redeveloping and revitalising major commercial and industrial sites;
  • advising on sustainable transport solutions for major urban regeneration projects; and
  • land reclamation and remediation.

The regeneration projects undertaken by AXIS staff are hugely varied and range from securing planning permission for a £60 million marina based, mixed use regeneration project for Pembroke Dock to major design projects as part of the strategic regeneration of Europe’s largest industrial estate at Trafford Park.
