Axis Secures Consent for Kingswood Investments

On behalf of Biossence Hooton Ltd., Axis has prepared and submitted a detailed planning application and associated environmental statement for the construction and operation of an energy from waste facility employing gasification technology and ancillary development on land at Hooton Park, Eastham.

The HOPSEF application was submitted to Wirral Borough Council on 6th March 2014, who subsequently validated the application. The Council now has 16 weeks to reach its decision.

The facility would accept up to 400,000tpa of waste feedstock comprising primarily of commercial and industrial waste.

It would recover both recyclable material and energy from this feedstock and would generate a maximum of 49.9MWe of which a proportion would be used within the plant itself, leaving 43.6MWe to be exported to the local grid.
