Axis has successfully obtained planning permission on behalf of Amey LG for changes to the Waterbeach Landfill Facility, Cambridgeshire. Planning permission has been granted to extend the life of landfilling operations at part of the site by an additional 21 years (until the end of 2036) and to alter the way in which the site will be restored. The application was accompanied by an EIA comprising the original ES and an ES Addendum.

Axis was responsible for the preparation, co-ordination and submission of all planning and supporting environmental documentation, as well as undertaking the necessary engagement with Cambridgeshire County Council and all interested stakeholders. The planning permission has been granted inside 16 weeks following pro-active and meaningful pre-application engagement.
